The paintings portray important dynasties both during the ancient and the medieval time periods. The most attention-grabbing part of the display is the terracotta collection of the museum. This impressive collection displays the dancing and amorous scenes to bacchanalian feasts and hunts. The coin compilation has exceptional Kushana and Gupta gold coins, while the manuscripts are largely in Sanskrit that date from the 16th century onwards. The Allahabad Museum also stores antiques from nearly all the renowned schools of sculptures namely the Kausambi, Mathura, Sarnath and Gandhara. The mind blowing and marvelous objects include the tasseled head of Shiva, projecting from a stone linga.
