Damdama Lake Delhi

About Damdama Lake:

The Damdama Lake is a tranquil gray-green water body fading into a bunch of misty mounds in Haryana. It is one of the biggest natural lakes in Haryana and seals a depression in the Aravalli hills, forming an outstanding milieu to its composed waters. Birds like Cormorants, Terns, Egrets and Kingfishers are regular to the Damdama Lake. But the king among these is Cranes or Saras, as it is called in Hindi. Late summers and Monsoons are good time to visit Damdama. Damdama Lake is located in Haryana, just 60 kms from Delhi and a few kilometers south of Gurgaon. In summers, the receding water level is embarrassingly low but during the monsoons its height shoots up radically attaining 50 to 60 feet in some areas which covers approximately an area of 7 kilometers square. The exact area of Damdama is extremely difficult to measure because of its minor streams that change course with the monsoon. Actually, the outline of this lagoon modifies sometimes daily. Adventure sports like Hot air ballooning, rowing, sailing, rock climbing and camel rides have found favor with the tourists going here. One can also try activities like jungle and mountain treasure treks and hunts. If you just want to relax then one can fish on a boat and then cook it for lunch by the lake. Nature walks and army obstacle courses like Rope Burma Bridge, Tarzan swing, monkey crawls, Zigzag beams and pull up beams are also organized on special request. Damdama Lake has a restaurant, bar, motel wing, conference hall, hovercraft, lawns and camping site.
