About Delhi Airport:

Delhi Airport, named as Indira Gandhi International Airport, is situated at Palam near Dwarka. The airport has three terminals, adding to the convenience of passengers. The airport got its present name on 2nd May 1986.

The Terminals
in Delhi Airport:
There are two terminals in Indira Gandhi International Airport, one for domestic passengers and the other for international passengers. The domestic terminal (Terminal 1) is further divided into roughly four separate areas called 1A, 1B, VVIP terminal and Hajj Terminal. 1A handles all domestic flights of state owned Indian Airlines and Kingfisher Airlines. 1B is reserved for other airlines. Both have a common arrival terminal. Terminal 2 is currently undergoing renovation.

Airport Transfer in Delhi Airport:

There are several options for the passengers to travel to their destinations. The first option is Easy cabs, the biggest metropolitan taxi service with 250 radio cabs completely operational with the state-of-art-technology. The client is billed from the point of pick up till the drop point and the billing will be on a per kilometer basis as fixed by Delhi Government. The second option is Avis India which provides a variety of cars ranging from Maruti Wagon R to the New S-class Mercedes Benz.

The third in the list is EATS or Ex Service Men Airlink Transport Service which provides shuttle services from the International Airport to ISBT (Inter State Bus Terminal) near Kashmiri Gate. The last is from DTTDC (Delhi Tourism Development Corporation), which fascilitates car renting (both AC and Non AC) for Delhi and Inter State transfers at government approved rates. It also moderates hotel bookings and gives tourists information.

Facilities in Delhi Airport:

All terminals in Delhi Airport have excellent lounge facilities. Exclusive lounges in the airport are managed by leading hotels or airlines for their club class passengers. A free bus shuttle service between various terminals is provided every half hour. Both Terminal 1 (1A &1B) and 2 are operational with contemporary amenities like sitting room, resting room, ATMs of various banks, offices for exchanging money, bistros, coffee shops, Wi-Fi enabled internet kiosks and a huge duty-free shopping ‘mall’. One can find the ATMs at Terminal 1A (Domestic) and the guests arrival area of International Terminal.

Round-the-clock pharmacy shops with a Doctor on call to ease patients are also available. There is also a railway reservation counter where you can check your ticket status or book one.

How to Reach Delhi:

By Air:

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport is connected to all the important cities of the world with almost all the major international airlines operating out of here. Palam Domestic Airport connects Delhi to the major cities in India.

By Rail:

The Indian Railway with their modern and organized network connects Delhi to all major and minor destinations in India. The city has three major railway stations at New Delhi, Old Delhi, and Nizamuddin.

By Road:

Delhi is well connected to all the major cities of India by a network of highways and roads. Buses can be taken from the three Inter State Bus Terminuses (ISBT), at Kashmere Gate, Sarai Kale Khan and Anand Vihar, as well as many starting points in and around the city, from which various state-managed and privately run transport facilities like air-conditioned, deluxe and ordinary coaches operate.

  5. I like this new Delhi airport Domestic as well as international airport but in future maintainance should be done , step by step whenever problems comes. One more thing is that all people is responsible to mentain cleanness,tidyness,good behaviour with all mainly airport people .I am proud for this sort of airport. Now we can say we have world class airport like Dubai airport. Go ahead indians,my friends with good viewsand good works . God bless.

Only International passengers guest those are staying in india should be allowed to meet inside airport .This time I feel bad when my relative comes to meet me in airport but CISF people told not allowed,this is not fair.I am not talking about Domestic passengers,It should be allowed for international passenger only.

    I never visited new Terminal (T-3) of IGI Air Port New Delhi, but people say Its fantastic
    I am worried about the long term maintanance that is very important like in other countries otherwise no benefit
