About Kalbhairav Temple :

Kal Bhairava is one of the chief attractions in Ujjain. The temple has a strong epical background. Kal Bhairava is one of the important tourist destinations that is a must visit for the tourist who visit Ujjain as you can unveil the other side of the Hinduism. The Malwa paintings and the block prints are very famous in these areas. The temple is located on the bank of river Shipra and the attractive part of the temple is the idol where the offerings are done with liquor on special events. Kal Bhairava is the temple where witchcrafts. Eight Bhairavas are worshipped and the temple was built by the king Bhairava. The temple is very famous among Kapalika and Aghora. The temple is beautifully painted in Malwa style but due to age the painting cannot be seen properly now. The famous Malwa paintings can be seen in this temple and in near by villages. The temple is well connected by all modes of transport and is one of the famous tourist destinations depicting the ancient culture of Hinduism.

By Air:

Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore is the nearest airport to Ujjain, which is situated 55 km away. Indore is air connected to major cities in India by public and private domestic airlines. Indore is connected to places like Jaipur, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Bhopal and Chennai. Taxi services are available from Indore airport to Ujjain, costing about Rs 1000. International travelers can get connecting flights to Indore from Delhi (800 km) or Mumbai (655 km) airport.

By Rail:

Ujjain Junction Railway Station is an important railway station in Western railway zone. It is well connected to all major railway stations in India. Direct train services are available to Bhopal, Indore, Pune, Malwa, Delhi and many other cities.

By Road:

Ujjain is well connected by state road transport public bus services. Regular bus services are available from Indore (55 km), Gwalior (450 km), Ahmedabad (400 km) and Bhopal (183 km) to Ujjain. Super fast and Deluxe A/C buses are also available in these routes. Bus fare is about Rs 3 – Rs 4 per km.
