About Nehru Park:

Nestled amidst the diplomatic community, Nehru Park in Delhi is a vast stretch of green land. It is very pleasant and peaceful with its picturesque environment. This park is spread over 75 acres of land and is quite costly in terms of upkeep. The place is named after India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and the entire park is full of little mounds and rocks inscribed with his quotations. Nehru Park looks especially beautiful during spring season when most of its flowering plants are in full bloom. The park is becoming very popular with joggers, morning walkers, picnickers and young couples. Nehru Park in Delhi is located at Chanakyapuri, quite close to Ashoka Hotel, on main Panchsheel Road, next to Santushti Complex. The Nehru Park is open on all days from 5am to 7pm. When you come to visit the park you can also shop at the famous Santushti Shopping Complex, Sarojini Nagar Market for all types of household goods but especially trendy and fashionable clothes, South Extension Market for branded stores and Panchkuian Road for ethnic items. You can club the visit to the park with visiting National Rail Museum, Nehru Planetarium and Memorial Museum, Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum, Safdarjang’s tomb and Dilli Haat. Every month Nehru Park hosts a programme called ‘Morning Ragas’, a mini musical concert where a musicians and vocalists from all over the world perform for the diplomatic audience. This two hour musical sojourn is supplemented by diverse art shows amongst the lush green surroundings. This monthly indulgence of art and music is highly awaited in the early mornings for culture lovers. Other attractions of this park are the early morning free Yoga classes held by Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corp (DTTDC) and the education department, as part of the Delhi Government’s initiative to promote fitness amongst Delhi residents. The park also serves as a venue for many stately dinners. There is also a swimming pool and a snack bar in the park.

By Air:

By Rail:

The Indian Railway with their modern and organized network connects Delhi to all major and minor destinations in India. The city has three major railway stations at New Delhi, Old Delhi, and Nizamuddin.

By Road:

Delhi is well connected to all the major cities of India by a network of highways and roads. Buses can be taken from the three Inter State Bus Terminuses (ISBT), at Kashmere Gate, Sarai Kale Khan and Anand Vihar, as well as many starting points in and around the city, from which various state-managed and privately run transport facilities like air-conditioned, deluxe and ordinary coaches operate.
