About Parikshit Thampuran Museum:
This museum features collections of the 19th century paintings , Pre-historic monuments , Old coins in a numismatic gallery,Scriptures in stone & Plaster of paris, Copies of mural paintings etc & the collection from the Cochin royal family.Parikshit Thampuran Museum is an archeological museum, located adjacent to Ernakulathappan Temple, on the Durbar Road in Ernakulam. This museum is a repository of paintings, pre-historic monuments, old coins and sculptures in stone and plaster of Paris. Noteworthy among the collections is the copies of mural paintings and the artifacts from the Kochi royal family. Parikshit Thampuran is housed within an enormous traditional style Kerala building, which was a Durbar Hall in ancient times. It is named after Rama Varma Parikshith Thampuran – the last official ruler of the Cochin Empire. The museum is open all days except Mondays and national holidays, from 9:30 hrs to 12:00 hrs and 15:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs.

By Air:
The airport is situated 5 km. away from Ernakulam. Cochin airport has domestic and international terminals.
By Rail:

Boat services to Chaganacherry, Kottayam, Alapuzha, Vypeen, Fort Cochin, Mattancherry, and Willingdon Island etc. are available.

Kochi is the old name of Ernakulam and especially Kochi is Fortkochi (Cochin 1) and Mattancherry (Cochin 2). There is another one part named Edakochi. Now the Heart of Kochi is M.G Road and Marine Drive. Mg Road is Kochim35 and 36 and also Marine Drive is Kochi 17. The distance between Old Kochi and the new part of Kochi i.e., Ernakulam is 15 kms by road and 5 km by water (back water) through Boat or Jankar.
