About Tomb of Sakthan Thampuran :

Tomb of Shakthan Thampuran, an erstwhile ruler hailed from Kochi kingdom, is located in Thrissur and is a major tourist attraction, especially for the tourists having special interest on history. Shaktan Thampuran was the most powerful Kochi King who ruled the regions covering Thrissur. The tomb of Shakthan Thampuran is one of the three tombs located inside the Shakthan Tamouran Palace constructed by Ramavarma Thampuaran in 1795. This tomb is at the spot where the mortal remain of King was laid to rest. The architectures is a specimen of the Dutch and Kerala style of architecture.

By Rail:

By Road:

By Local Transport:

• By Bus – local bus service system is cheap.

• By Auto rickshaw – Auto rickshaws are the main form of local transport, if you don’t have your own means of transportation. Auto rickshaws running in the city limits are to use fare meters, while the ones from the adjacent areas need not use them. However it is a rule that such auto rickshaws without metres should not pick up passengers within city limits. There is a pre-paid auto rickshaw counter at Thrissur Railway Station.
